The photo seminar “HOPES. . .” will take place from 11-19.07.2008 at the International Youth Meeting Center, Oświęcim (Auschwitz) /Poland. The project aims for the following target group: 5 students from Israel, 5 students from Germany, 5 students from Poland.
The photographic seminars are organised in the International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim for more than a decade. The subject-matter of the workshops is strictly connected with the history of Oświęcim. This time the central point of the project will be the history of Mr. Wilhelm Brasse, a former prisoner of KL Auschwitz, who worked as a photographer in the camp. Two basic substantial components of the seminar, that is a history of the town of Oświęcim and biography of Wilhelm Brasse, meets in the area of the former death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Through the visiting the town of Oświęcim, sightseeing the Commemoration Places, film and a discussion with Mr. Wilhelmem Brasse, the participants of the seminar will be discovering the complexity of history and its consequences.
